Train rides will be held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of the Anthracite Heritage Festival. The 11 a.m. ride will go from Shamokin to Reed Station. The 2 p.m. ride will go from Shamokin to Yellow Hill Road. Boarding begins a half hour before departure time. Rain or shine. Trains depart from parking lot between Market and Eighth streets. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at Beverly’s Flower Shop and Shuey Jewelers. Train rides are operated in cooperation with SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority, Penn Valley Railroad and North Shore Railroad.
